2013 Season Recap so far:
The Sufferjets (94) have started their season out strong with 2 WFTDA sanctioned games against Lehigh Valley (123) and Green Mountain (110). They brought home a decisive 173 to 123 win against Lehigh and a nailbiting back and forth game with Green Mountain saw the SJ’s coming out behind by just 5 points in their 135 to 140 loss. Of course, in derby, a good game is always a close game and they’re not letting it get them down as they head into their next game against Roc City at home on May 11th. In their last meeting at Empire Skate Showdown last September, the SJ’s lost to Roc City but just 2 points and we guarantee they’ll be out to make up that 2 point margin and greatly expand upon it.
The Bluestockings have also started the season hot out the gate by bringing home two hard fought wins against Green Mountain’s B-team (198 to 125) and Long Island’s B-team (190-116). This adds two more to their 7 game winning streak which they plan to maintain as they head into their next game against Capital City out of Ottawa on May 4th. A meeting between these two teams last season saw a decisive win by the Blues which I’m sure they’re itching to repeat. May the 4th be with them!
